Governor JB Pritzker of Illinois has officially lost his mind — and he’s dragging the entire state with him. In the latest episode of “Democrats Defending the Indefensible,” Pritzker has directed Illinois state agencies to take action against the country of El Salvador because — wait for it — El Salvador refuses to hand over a deported MS-13 gang member that President Trump’s administration booted out of the U.S. for being, you know, a dangerous criminal.
Let’s be clear: Kilmar Garcia Abrego isn’t some innocent “Maryland man” as the leftist media wants you to believe. He’s a documented MS-13 gangbanger, arrested with other members, tied to human trafficking, and even accused of beating his own wife. It has all been laid out, but Democrats like Pritzker are still out here trying to paint this guy as some misunderstood family man wrongfully deported by the big bad Trump Administration. Give me a break.
When Abrego was deported, he wasn’t some random dude; he was a known threat. Even the FBI had enough evidence to initially detain him again in 2022 after a Tennessee Highway Patrol officer caught him up to no good. But somehow, despite domestic violence charges and gang affiliations, he kept slipping through the cracks, all because liberal judges and bureaucrats thought he might be “unsafe” back in El Salvador. Cry me a river.
Now Pritzker, fresh off his fantasies of a 2028 presidential run, wants Illinois to boycott El Salvador because they won’t let Democrats smuggle Abrego back into the U.S. He’s ordered the State Board of Investment, the State Universities Retirement System, and the Teachers’ Retirement System to review and potentially divest from any El Salvadoran-controlled companies. He’s even looking to cancel state contracts and analyze Illinois’ trade with El Salvador — all over one MS-13 thug.
This isn’t leadership — it’s pandering to the radical left. Pritzker isn’t defending “due process.” He’s defending lawlessness. He’s defending violent criminals against the American people he swore to serve. It’s disgusting.
And let’s not overlook the arrogance here. The governor of Illinois, a sanctuary state that’s already drowning under the weight of its own illegal immigration mess, thinks he’s going to bully a sovereign nation into handing over a convicted gang member. Spoiler alert: El Salvador isn’t playing ball. They denied requests from U.S. lawmakers like Robert Garcia, Maxwell Frost, Yassamin Ansari, and Maxine Dexter faster than you can say “No mas.”
If Pritzker spent half as much time cleaning up Chicago’s crime-ridden streets as he does protecting MS-13 members, maybe Illinois wouldn’t be a national punchline right now. But hey, priorities, right?
