Trump Shows Off the Stunning New Gold Card and Names Who the First Buyer Was

President Trump is putting the “gold” back in the American Dream — literally.

In his trademark Trump fashion, the 45th (and 47th) President unveiled his newest immigration reform: a high-end, no-nonsense “Gold Card” visa for the world’s wealthiest and most successful individuals. The price tag? A cool $5 million.

“For $5 million, we will allow the most successful job-creating people from all over the world to buy a path to U.S. citizenship,” Trump announced, with a gleam in his eye. “It’s like the green card, but better and more sophisticated.” And of course, it comes with the added benefit of paying U.S. taxes — because, as Trump quipped, “If you want to live in the best country on earth, you better help pay for it.”

The new “Gold Card” initiative is being hailed by some as a bold masterstroke and by others (mostly Democrats clutching their pearls) as controversial. But love it or hate it, it’s already working. U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick confirmed that 1,000 Gold Cards were sold in the first week alone — generating a stunning $5 billion in a single day. Not a bad start for a country that was drowning in deficits and illegal immigration chaos under Joe Biden.

The Gold Card essentially replaces the bloated and corruption-prone EB-5 visa program, which required immigrants to invest about $800,000 to $1 million in job-creating projects in exchange for residency. That program, created in 1990, had become a playground for scam artists, like the infamous Vermont ski resort fiasco that defrauded dozens of foreign investors. By contrast, the Trump plan is simple, clean, and — above all — American. You pay, you play. No loopholes. No grift. No nonsense.

Naturally, the professional outrage class is already melting down over the plan, claiming it “favors the rich” (as if the old system wasn’t already stacked for the elite). But let’s be honest: if we’re going to have immigration at all, wouldn’t it make sense to favor people who actually bring value to the country? People who build businesses, hire Americans, and contribute to the economy — instead of drain it?

As Trump put it during his March address to Congress, “Taxpayers are done footing the bill for the world’s problems. This is a new era. It’s Liberation Day.”

Liberation indeed. From illegal immigration, from bloated bureaucracy, and from the idea that America has to keep taking handouts while getting nothing in return. The Gold Card is just the beginning.
