President Trump sat down for a no-holds-barred interview with NBC News anchor Kristen Welker, and as usual, he didn’t mince words. The conversation centered on Trump’s plan to tackle illegal immigration and his commitment to mass deportations, a critical issue that has only worsened under the Biden-Harris administration.
Trump recently appointed Tom Homan, the former acting director of ICE, as his incoming Border Czar. Homan’s mission is clear: stop the illegal alien invasion that has flooded the United States over the last four years and prioritize the deportation of criminal aliens. Since Biden and Harris took office, more than 15 million illegal immigrants, predominantly military-age males, have entered the country, including hundreds of thousands of known criminals—murderers, rapists, and gang members.
When Welker pressed Trump on the logistics of his deportation plan, he made his stance clear: families will not be separated. “Well, I don’t want to be breaking up families, so the only way that you don’t break up the family is you keep them together and you have to send them all back,” Trump explained. In other words, families who entered the country illegally will be deported as a unit. No loopholes, no exceptions.
Trump also reiterated his commitment to ending birthright citizenship, a policy that has been distorted from the 14th Amendment to grant automatic citizenship to children born in the U.S. to illegal immigrants. “We’re the only country that has it!” Trump pointed out, correctly noting that the U.S. stands virtually alone among developed nations in allowing this practice.

Homan echoed Trump’s stance during a separate interview with CBS’s Cecilia Vega. When asked whether mass deportations could be carried out without separating families, Homan replied, “Of course there is. Families can be deported together.” This straightforward approach addresses one of the left’s most frequent talking points: the supposed inhumanity of deportation.
The Biden administration’s open-border policies have pushed the nation to a breaking point, with millions of illegal immigrants straining resources, increasing crime rates, and undermining national security. Trump’s plan, bolstered by Homan’s leadership, signals a return to law and order—a message that resonates deeply with Americans who have watched their communities overrun.
As the Trump administration prepares to take office, the promise of securing the border and enforcing immigration laws is set to be a top priority. The days of unchecked illegal immigration and lax enforcement are numbered, and the American people are ready for the change.
