Savage: Karoline Leavitt Wrecks Dems Using Pelosi & Schumer’s Own Words on Tariffs

Karoline Leavitt lit the press room on fire Tuesday — and not with spin, but with receipts. She came in hot, calling out the Democrat Party for their Olympic-level flip-flopping on trade and tariffs. And she did it using their own words, from their own mouths, from their own old speeches. There’s nothing more satisfying than watching a Democrat get hoisted by their own petard, and Karoline brought the fireworks.

Let’s talk about these tariffs President Trump just slapped on. Starting April 9th, China’s getting hit with a 104% retaliatory tariff — yes, 104%. That’s not a typo. That’s what happens when you try to play hardball with a man who doesn’t blink. On April 2, during his “Make America Wealthy Again” event — which the White House has fittingly dubbed “Liberation Day” — President Trump announced 34% tariffs on China and dozens of other countries abusing “discounted reciprocal” trade deals. In normal speak: he’s finally doing what politicians have pretended to care about for decades.

And how do the Democrats respond? The same way they always do when Trump actually follows through on what they’ve only talked about. They panic. They scream. They cry “economic chaos” and “biggest tax hike in history.” Nancy Pelosi, who once gave a fiery speech in 1996 demanding reciprocal tariffs and asking, “How much more oppression and job loss must we endure?” is now calling Trump’s tariffs reckless.

Oh, really, Nancy? You wanted action — well, President Trump is the action. He’s not making speeches; he’s making moves.

Chuck Schumer, back in 2005, was practically begging the Bush administration to do something — anything — to stop the trade deficit with China. “The administration needs to move beyond words,” he said. Well guess what, Chuck? Trump’s moved beyond words. You’re welcome.

And then there’s Sherrod Brown in 2012, moaning about millions of lost jobs from Chinese trade abuse. Funny how that tune changes once Trump starts bringing those jobs back. Suddenly, it’s a crisis when America stands up for itself. What a coincidence.

Karoline Leavitt nailed it when she said everyone in Washington knows Trump is right on trade — they just don’t have the spine to admit it. The Democrats don’t want to fix the problem. They want to campaign on it forever. But now that President Trump is actually fixing it, they’re scrambling because their talking points are obsolete.
