Sanctuary Cities BANNED in Major Battleground State Shake-Up

One US state just just sent a clear message to the open-borders crowd: not here, not ever.

On Thursday, Governor Kelly Ayotte, the newest Governor of New Hampshire, signed into law two powerful new bills—House Bill 511 and Senate Bill 62—that formally ban sanctuary cities in the Granite State. The move makes New Hampshire the 11th state to explicitly reject these radical leftist safe havens for illegal aliens, and it does so with a no-nonsense tone that’s long overdue in New England.

“There will be no sanctuary cities in New Hampshire, period, end of story,” Ayotte declared during the bill signing at the State Capitol, and for once, a politician actually meant it.

Ayotte, a former U.S. senator and the state’s attorney general before that, campaigned hard on cracking down on illegal immigration. And she didn’t mince words when she called out neighboring Massachusetts, which is currently buried under a billion-dollar illegal immigrant crisis. Her campaign slogan—“Don’t Mass up New Hampshire”—wasn’t just clever, it was prophetic.

While Democrats in places like Boston are blowing taxpayer dollars on hotel rooms, food stipends, and luxury accommodations for illegal border-crossers, Ayotte’s drawing a hard line to protect her state’s families, jobs, and law enforcement.

“New Hampshire will never be a sanctuary for criminals,” she said. “We will keep working every day to remain the safest state in the nation.”

That safety, by the way, isn’t an accident. New Hampshire currently ranks as the safest state in America—a fact Ayotte and state Republicans are determined to keep intact by ensuring local law enforcement can work with ICE and other federal immigration agencies.

State Sen. Bill Gannon, the Senate bill’s sponsor, echoed that sentiment: “This legislation makes us an even safer place to work, live, and raise a family.” Meanwhile, State Rep. Joe Sweeney nailed it when he said, “We are taking the handcuffs off our law enforcement officers… so they can put the handcuffs on the criminal illegal aliens.”

Predictably, the usual suspects on the left are crying foul, but here’s the truth: this bill doesn’t target immigrants—it targets lawlessness. While there are no official sanctuary cities in New Hampshire yet, the law preempts rogue municipalities from pulling a San Francisco stunt and deciding to ignore federal law because it suits their politics.

In short: this is smart governance. Common sense is alive and well in the Live Free or Die state. And with President Donald Trump back in office, New Hampshire is leading by example—putting law-abiding citizens first and showing the rest of the country how it’s done.
