Things got real spicy on CNN this week when liberal podcaster Pete Dominick had what can only be described as a full-blown meltdown during a panel discussion. Conservative commentator Scott Jennings, known for his calm but cutting style, was in peak form, needling Dominick about President Joe Biden’s abysmal polling numbers and their role in President-elect Trump’s win Tuesday night. It was a masterclass in trolling, and let’s just say Dominick did not handle it well.
Jennings, ever the smooth operator, laid out the timeline for Biden’s decline in popularity like a seasoned professor giving a lecture. “If you look at the arc of the Biden presidency, he was in really good shape until August of 2021 when Afghanistan happened,” Jennings noted. He went on to say that the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan marked the beginning of the end for Biden’s poll numbers, dragging them (and Kamala Harris’s) below 40%, where they stayed for the remainder of his term. Dominick, already looking like he was about to blow a gasket, jumped in before Jennings could even finish.
“Why?!” Dominick shouted, cutting off Jennings mid-sentence. Jennings, unfazed, shot back with a zinger: “Because he ran and told us that the adults were back in charge, and that was the opposite of that.” Ouch. He’s not wrong, either—who could forget the tragic images of Afghans clinging to U.S. military planes, some falling to their deaths, or the suicide bomber attack that killed 13 U.S. service members along with dozens of Afghan civilians? But for Dominick, facts like these are nothing but pesky details.
Dominick’s response? A sputtering tirade of, “Because Donald Trump is a child!” It was a classic case of Trump Derangement Syndrome on full display. Jennings, clearly enjoying the show, didn’t even have to say much. He just watched as Dominick went off, eventually yelling, “Oh bulls***! Bulls*** dude,” when Jennings mentioned how the Biden administration wouldn’t even acknowledge the families of the fallen service members. It was a sad sight, really—like watching someone try to fight quicksand.
Jennings, with the kind of shrug that only a seasoned debater can pull off, replied, “You’re still campaigning. It’s over brother.” And that’s when Dominick truly lost it. “It’s not over! It’ll never be over!” he screamed, as if he were auditioning for a role in a doomsday cult. Meanwhile, guest Coleman Hughes chimed in, pointing out how many Americans expected competence from Biden but got anything but. Dominick wasn’t having it. “We did!” he insisted, sounding more like he was trying to convince himself than anyone else.
The cherry on top? Jennings capped it off with, “I can read a chart, and I can read a poll. I guess you can’t.” Boom. Mic drop. The entire segment was a textbook example of what happens when liberal fantasies about Biden’s competence collide with cold, hard reality. Dominick, red-faced and fuming, ended up looking like a toddler throwing a tantrum while the adults in the room just shook their heads.
JENNINGS: “You’re still campaigning. It’s over.”
CNN PANELIST: “It will NEVER be over! You wish!”

It’s not the first time CNN has had to deal with an outburst like this. Just last month, they booted conservative author Ryan Girdusky mid-show after he cracked a joke about Mehdi Hasan’s anti-Israel stances. Apparently, CNN isn’t in the mood for conservative jabs these days—but liberal meltdowns? Those seem to be fair game.
In the end, this exchange was a perfect microcosm of the current political landscape: conservatives pointing to facts and polls, liberals losing their minds over it, and CNN trying desperately to keep the lid on the whole mess. But hey, if you want to see the left’s total meltdown in real-time, just tune into one of these panels. It’s free entertainment at its finest.
