Well, isn’t this rich? Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, the married co-hosts of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, are now cozying up to President-elect Trump after years of trashing him on air. The duo confirmed this week that they recently paid a visit to Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate, claiming they discussed ways to “unify the country” and tone down divisive rhetoric. Sure, because nothing screams unity like two media figures famous for vilifying Trump now trying to play nice.
Predictably, the political world isn’t buying it. Megyn Kelly, never one to mince words, ripped into Scarborough and Brzezinski on her Sirius XM show, calling them “grifters” and accusing them of sacrificing journalistic ethics for access to power. She even borrowed a line from liberal commentator Keith Olbermann, who described the Morning Joe hosts as “confidence tricksters” in a post on X. Kelly’s response? “That’s exactly right.”
She didn’t stop there. Kelly reminded listeners how Scarborough and Brzezinski bent over backward to support Trump during his 2016 primary campaign, only to become some of his fiercest critics once he took office. “It was true bootlicking,” she said, referring to their early efforts to bolster Trump’s candidacy. But now that Trump is headed back to the White House, they seem eager to jump back on the bandwagon.
Scarborough and Brzezinski, of course, tried to frame their visit as a selfless act of public service. Brzezinski claimed on Morning Joe that Trump was “upbeat, cheerful, and interested in finding common ground.” Really? This is the same Trump they’ve accused of destroying democracy and spreading hate. The sudden about-face smells more like opportunism than a genuine interest in bridge-building.
Kelly wasn’t having it. She capped off her rant with a blistering message to the couple: “Go f— yourselves, you dishonest jokes of faux journalists.” Subtle? No. Accurate? Absolutely.

The irony here is thick enough to cut with a knife. Scarborough and Brzezinski spent years branding themselves as principled adversaries of Trumpism. Now, with Trump preparing to retake the Oval Office, they’re suddenly all about “cooling the rhetoric.” It’s a convenient pivot that reeks of desperation.
Scarborough and Brzezinski’s attempt at fence-mending isn’t fooling anyone. Whether it’s about ratings, access, or just plain hypocrisy, this latest stunt is another reminder that in politics—and cable news—principles often take a backseat to self-interest.
I think a Network command is making them knuckle under to Trump. The Network knows their ratings are in the tank and they are demanding these loser journalists change their ways.
