Well, it looks like Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass finally got the message—loud and clear. After President Trump’s very public smackdown, Bass has caved and is allowing residents of Pacific Palisades to return to their homes immediately. Once again, Trump steps in and gets things done while local Democrat leaders dither, delay, and drown in red tape.
During his recent visit to the fire-ravaged Pacific Palisades, President Trump wasted no time in cutting through the bureaucratic nonsense. He met with residents, surveyed the devastation, and told Bass exactly what needed to happen: let the people back in now, not months down the line. “There’s not that much left. It’s all incinerated,” Trump pointed out. “They want to go in. The people are all over the place.” Sounds like common sense, right? Not for Bass—at least until Trump applied some much-needed pressure.
Trump reminded Bass that she has emergency powers just like he does, and he wasn’t shy about telling her to use them. And wouldn’t you know it? Just days later, the city finally lifted evacuation orders for several areas, allowing residents to return under strict conditions. Coincidence? Not a chance. Trump’s influence forced Bass to backtrack on her ridiculous 18-month timeline, which would have kept residents in limbo while bureaucrats twiddled their thumbs and racked up costs.
In a face-saving move, Bass announced on X that evacuation orders were lifted “for select safe zones,” but with the usual laundry list of government restrictions—N95 masks, PPE, checkpoints, and proof of residency requirements. Because, of course, the government has to make things as complicated as possible.
#PalisadesFire: Evacuation orders have now been lifted for select safe zones.
Residents must provide proof of residency.
Know the risks. Follow public health guidelines: wear a N95 mask and use personal protective equipment.

Despite the unnecessary hoops residents now have to jump through, this is still a major win for common sense, and more importantly, for the people. Homeowners can finally begin the painful process of rebuilding without waiting around for endless city contracts and overpriced government clean-up crews.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that three zones—C-111A, C-112B, and U-030B—are now accessible to residents. But let’s not forget: the rest of Pacific Palisades remains under Bass’s watchful eye, meaning more pressure may be needed to get the job completely done.
Once again, President Trump proves that when you cut through the red tape, things actually happen. Bass and her leftist pals may have wanted to keep this disaster bogged down in bureaucracy, but Trump reminded them who’s boss. America First policies aren’t just for the economy—they work in disaster recovery too.
If nothing else, this whole situation just goes to show that leadership matters—and Trump is the only one willing to push back against weak leadership and demand real action.
