Vem Miller, a staunch supporter of President Trump, is speaking out following his recent arrest near Trump’s rally in Coachella, California. Miller, 49, was taken into custody after Riverside County deputies discovered firearms in his vehicle, sparking initial concerns of an assassination attempt. However, Miller vehemently denies any malicious intent, calling the accusations “fake news.”
The incident unfolded when deputies found a shotgun, a handgun, and a high-capacity magazine in Miller’s car, along with what they claimed were counterfeit VIP passes to the rally. Although released on $5,000 bail, Miller now faces misdemeanor charges related to firearm possession under California law, which is stricter than his home state of Nevada.
Miller asserts that he was fully transparent with law enforcement about his firearms, describing them as “legally owned” and registered. He insists he only made a critical mistake by forgetting California’s stringent regulations compared to Nevada’s gun-friendly policies. “I’m just letting you know, in the back of my truck, I’ve got two lawful firearms,” Miller told deputies at the checkpoint. According to Miller, he was promptly asked to pull over, and from there, things took a turn.
The situation escalated when Riverside County Sheriff Chad Bianco initially suggested the arrest had possibly prevented “another assassination attempt,” claiming Miller had threatened the former president. However, Bianco later backtracked, stating he didn’t recall saying that and admitted there was no concrete evidence to support such a claim. Miller is adamant that he had no counterfeit credentials, explaining, “I can prove I had a special entry pass sent directly to me by officials within the Republican Party of Nevada.”
In a statement shared on the platform America Happens, Miller expressed frustration over the treatment he received, claiming it was unjust and politically motivated. He recounted being handcuffed, left in a sweltering police car without access to his essential medications, and only receiving water after a prolonged wait. “The body cams and the evidence will show that I drove up to the officer and gave him the courtesy of letting him know about the firearms in my truck,” Miller emphasized, describing the ordeal as overly aggressive.

According to Miller, deputies also conducted a thorough search of his car, deploying bomb-sniffing dogs and inspecting every detail, even opening the mufflers. Despite finding nothing incriminating, Miller believes the extensive search was part of an attempt to cast him as a potential threat.
Miller views the media frenzy around his arrest as indicative of a broader effort to discredit Trump supporters and conservative voices. “Probably the reason that God put me in that situation,” Miller reflected, “is to expose what’s really going on.” He maintains that the incident has been blown out of proportion, a consequence of what he sees as an increasingly hostile environment for outspoken conservatives.
As a conservative Republican, he will need a lot of help in a California court. Now had he denied Trump and spouted some liberal lines he would have only received a slap on the wrist.
