Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson stepped directly into the political fray this week, using her platform at a judicial conference in Puerto Rico to launch a not-so-subtle attack on President Trump—while receiving a standing ovation from her far-left allies in the crowd. It was the kind of grandstanding we’ve come to expect from activist judges, but this time it came from the bench of the highest court in the land.
While Jackson never mentioned Trump by name, the message couldn’t have been clearer. She railed against what she called “threats and harassment” directed at judges—criticism she claims is designed to “intimidate” the judiciary. And in true progressive fashion, she framed any and all pushback against politically motivated court rulings as an existential threat to democracy.
“The threats and harassment are attacks on our democracy, on our system of government,” she said. “They ultimately risk undermining our Constitution and the rule of law.” A bit rich coming from someone who has consistently voted in lockstep with the radical left on nearly every major issue to cross her desk.
Jackson went on to call for “raw courage” from judges to continue ruling without fear of public backlash—translation: ignore the American people and keep rubber-stamping leftist policies from the bench.
This speech follows weeks of mounting tension between the Trump administration and an increasingly hostile judicial class. President Trump has openly criticized judges like James Boasberg, an Obama appointee who recently halted deportation flights of criminal Venezuelan aliens and attempted to force the DOJ to disclose sensitive national security information. Trump rightly called him out as a “radical left lunatic” and called for his impeachment.
That didn’t sit well with the D.C. judicial establishment. Chief Justice John Roberts, in a rare public rebuke, claimed impeachment was “not an appropriate response to disagreement concerning a judicial decision.” Maybe Roberts should spend less time lecturing elected officials and more time reflecting on how unelected judges have become foot soldiers for the progressive agenda.
Let’s not forget: President Trump was elected to secure the border, restore law and order, and defend American sovereignty. When activist judges step in to block those efforts, they’re not above scrutiny. And when Justice Jackson throws herself into the partisan spotlight to defend them, she reveals exactly where her loyalties lie—not with the Constitution, but with the Democrat Party.
It’s time we start holding judges accountable, not applauding them for hiding behind the robe while pushing politics from the bench.
