Kamala Harris took the entire day off to prepare for a sit-down interview with NBC’s Hallie Jackson, and what did she do? She completely bombed it. Seriously, folks, if you’re prepping for something all day, you expect at least a halfway decent performance, right? Not for Harris. Fourteen days before the election, she’s got a chance to speak directly to voters, explain why they should choose Biden over Trump, and what does she do? She forgets a state. Yep, she forgot Michigan.
The question she faced was simple enough: “Why do voters trust Trump more than you on the economy?” Crickets. You could see the gears grinding away in her head, but nothing coherent came out. Instead, she pivoted to talking about her busy schedule, as if that was somehow going to explain anything. Busy doing what, exactly? She barely campaigns. Maybe she’s too busy trying to figure out what state she’s headed to next. The best part? She stumbled so hard when trying to remember Michigan that Hallie Jackson had to step in and help her. That’s right, the journalist had to complete Harris’ sentence for her, like a teacher helping a kid who didn’t do their homework.
Harris tried to salvage the moment by saying, “Excuse me, I just got in late this morning,” as if showing up late is an excuse for forgetting a key battleground state. So relatable, right? You can just picture voters in Michigan nodding along like, “Oh yeah, no problem Kamala, just got in late. Happens to the best of us!” Give me a break.
NBC: Why do voters trust Trump and not you on the economy?
Harris: Well, I’ve been to Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and … what’s that other one?

It didn’t get better. Jackson also pressed her on the issue of taxpayer-funded sex changes for illegal immigrants and prisoners, something Harris has supported in the past. Harris? She looked like a deer in headlights, completely avoiding the question and giving a generic “all people should be treated with respect” answer. That’s not exactly what people want to hear when their tax dollars are on the line for radical policies like this. You’d think, given the backlash her stance has received, she’d be ready with a response, but no, she just dodged it.
All that prep time for this? Maybe next time she should use a few of those hours to actually answer the questions instead of ducking them.
