The walls are finally closing in, not on President Trump, but on one of the original architects of the Russia hoax: former CIA Director John Brennan. On Tuesday, the House Judiciary Committee officially referred Brennan to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution. Yes, you read that right. After years of dodging accountability, the man who helped launch one of the most destructive disinformation campaigns in American history is now staring down the barrel of a criminal investigation.
According to Chairman Jim Jordan, Brennan knowingly made false statements during a transcribed interview with the committee in May 2023. These weren’t just vague misstatements or memory lapses. Jordan says they were “willfully and intentionally false statements of material fact” and they directly contradicted evidence already on the record from both the CIA and the House Intelligence Committee.
At the heart of the referral is Brennan’s role in the infamous Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) put together after the 2016 election. That report claimed Russia interfered in the election to help President Trump, and it was paraded around as gospel by every left-wing media outlet and Democrat politician for years. But as it turns out, the ICA was tainted by the Steele dossier.
John Brennan lied to Congress.
Today, we referred him to the Department of Justice for criminal prosecution.

Brennan told Congress that the CIA didn’t rely on the Steele dossier when drafting the ICA and that he was opposed to including it. Problem is, the record says otherwise. Turns out, the CIA did use the Steele dossier, a piece of political trash funded by the Clinton campaign, and there’s evidence Brennan was part of the push to sneak it into the report. That’s a direct violation of intelligence tradecraft, and now it might be a criminal one too.
The rabbit hole goes deeper. An internal CIA memo released by then-Director John Ratcliffe showed that the ICA process was full of “procedural anomalies” and diverged from standard protocols. It even revealed that multiple CIA officers believed Russia didn’t actually favor Trump in 2016. They were betting on Hillary Clinton, because they had dirt on her they could use if she won.
So let’s be clear. Brennan helped craft a report based on bogus intel, pushed a narrative that was false from the start, and now appears to have lied to Congress to cover it all up. It’s about time accountability caught up with these deep state operatives. No one is above the law, not even the spooks who weaponized our intelligence agencies to target a sitting president.
