Former Mayor and Obama Crony Eyeing a Presidential Run in 2028

Oh, look who’s dipping his toes into the presidential waters—none other than Rahm Emanuel, the guy who made Chicago even worse (which is quite an achievement) and was Obama’s enforcer-in-chief. And now he thinks he’s the one to rescue the Democrats from their slow-motion train wreck? That’s rich.

Politico, which is basically a Democrat press release service disguised as a news outlet, is already laying the groundwork for his 2028 run. And you know what that means—Rahm’s getting the Obama-Clinton machine ready to roll. Because let’s be real, this isn’t about Rahm Emanuel’s political genius (he doesn’t have any). This is about Barack Obama wanting another four years of control, and Emanuel being the perfect loyal soldier to carry it out.

Let’s not forget, this is the same Rahm Emanuel who famously said, “You never let a serious crisis go to waste.” Translation: exploit every disaster to push big-government policies. As Obama’s White House Chief of Staff, Emanuel was instrumental in ramming through Obamacare, the stimulus disaster, and every other economy-killing policy the Democrats could dream up. Then, as mayor of Chicago, he presided over skyrocketing crime and an exodus of businesses and residents. The only thing he successfully ran in Chicago was the city into the ground. But sure, let’s put him in charge of the entire country. What could go wrong?

Now he’s trying to rebrand himself as the “sensible” Democrat. He even wants to pretend he’s distancing himself from the woke insanity. Saying he’s “done” with the locker room and bathroom debates and wants to focus on education? Oh wow, how brave. If he really meant it, he would have been saying this years ago when the left was pushing radical gender policies onto kids. This isn’t about principle. This is about political survival. The Democrats know their woke nonsense is toxic, so they’re scrambling to put some distance between themselves and the mess they created.

But will the Democrat base actually buy it? That’s the real question. Because while Emanuel might be trying to pivot away from the woke crowd, the radical activists who control the Democratic Party aren’t going anywhere. They’re obsessed with identity politics, and they’re not going to be happy with a guy who suddenly decides he’s not interested in their pet issues. It’s hard to see the party’s base getting excited about a corporate-friendly, Wall Street-connected, old-school Democrat who doesn’t check any of their identity boxes.

So sure, Rahm can try to position himself as the savior of the Democrat Party. But the reality is, the Democrats are too far gone. Emanuel might think he’s the one to bring them back from the abyss, but good luck convincing the far-left base to get on board. This will be fun to watch.
