Former CNN mouthpiece Don Lemon is back—because apparently, getting fired wasn’t enough to keep him from trashing things he doesn’t understand. This time, he’s lashing out at the Christian faith, Charlie Kirk’s widow, and tens of thousands of Americans who gathered to honor a man who dedicated his life to restoring faith and freedom in this country. And what was Lemon’s big issue? The memorial had “too much” Jesus in it. Yes, really.
At the memorial for Charlie Kirk, held at State Farm Arena in Arizona, over 30,000 people showed up to mourn the assassination of a husband, a son, a mentor, and a patriot. It was a deeply moving Christian service. Speakers quoted Scripture. Songs of worship were sung. Dr. Frank Turek, a Christian apologist, shared how Charlie died instantly and is now with the Lord. And then, in the most unforgettable moment of the night, Erika Kirk, his grieving widow, stood up and did something truly radical—she forgave her husband’s killer.
Think about that for a second. A young wife, devastated and heartbroken, standing before a national audience and saying, “I forgive him.” That’s not politics. That’s faith. That’s grace. That’s Christianity.
But Don Lemon? He saw something entirely different. He saw “religious nationalism.” He accused the speakers of “demanding submission” simply because they quoted the Bible. He claimed the service wasn’t a tribute—it was a “political rally.” Then he mocked President Trump, who called Charlie a martyr and praised his legacy. Lemon couldn’t stand that either. Because in his world, faith is threatening. Christianity is suspicious. And anyone who actually believes the Bible must be trying to build a theocracy.
NEW: Don Lemon fumes over the Christian messaging at Charlie Kirk’s memorial, says speakers quoted scripture because they were “demanding submission”
“What we saw in that arena was not simply faith finding public expression, it was religious nationalism on full display”

Let’s call it what it is…disgusting.
When was the last time Lemon had anything negative to say about a Muslim, Hindu, or atheist memorial? You’d never hear him criticize a Buddhist funeral for “too much chanting” or a Jewish service for quoting the Torah. But when it’s Christians? Oh, now it’s “religious extremism” and “authoritarianism.”
What actually happened in that arena was simple: tens of thousands of Americans gathered to honor a man who lived boldly and died tragically. They turned to God for comfort. They clung to Scripture for truth. And they celebrated a life that pointed people to something bigger than politics.
Don Lemon can sneer all he wants. But what happened in that arena was real hope, something he clearly still doesn’t understand.
