The 2028 Democratic primary is already shaping up to be a circus—and the clowns are stepping into the spotlight. According to a new Yale Youth poll of registered voters, the top three frontrunners for the Democratic nomination are none other than Kamala Harris, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Pete Buttigieg. If that lineup doesn’t scream “we learned nothing from 2024,” I don’t know what does.
Kamala Harris, who couldn’t even survive the 2020 primaries and then tanked the most expensive presidential campaign in American history in 2024, is now somehow leading the pack with 28%. Second place? AOC with 21%—a socialist congresswoman who thinks economics is when your feelings tell you you’re right. And in third? Pete Buttigieg, the man who couldn’t manage potholes in South Bend or luggage at the nation’s airports, coming in with 14%.
It gets better. California Governor Gavin Newsom, who Democrats have treated like the second coming of JFK in a hair gel commercial, didn’t even break double digits—pulling in a measly 6%. So much for the golden boy of the Left Coast.

The poll breakdown is even more telling among young Democrats, where Harris and AOC rack up even higher numbers: 37.4% and 28.2% respectively. Buttigieg’s appeal with the TikTok crowd, however, fades to just 9.7%. Apparently, being the Secretary of Transportation during a supply chain meltdown isn’t exactly resume gold for Gen Z.
Rounding out the rest of the field is a parade of mediocrity: Pennsylvania’s Josh Shapiro at 5%, Mark Kelly at 4%, and a four-way tie among Mark Cuban, JB Pritzker, Gretchen Whitmer, and Andy Beshear at 3% each. That’s not a lineup—it’s a trivia question on political irrelevance.
But here’s the kicker: John Fetterman and ESPN loudmouth Stephen A. Smith were the only names with negative favorability ratings among Democrats. So yes, the bar is still on the floor.
This poll isn’t just a snapshot—it’s a flashing neon sign that the Democrat Party has completely lost touch with reality. Instead of grooming serious leaders, they’re doubling down on failed candidates, virtue-signaling socialists, and glorified Instagram influencers. Meanwhile, President Trump is in office, running a lean, focused administration and actually getting things done.
If this is the future of the Democratic Party, Republicans should be sleeping like babies.
