You’ve got to love it when the Senate accidentally turns into a courtroom drama — and on Tuesday, it did just that, with Senator Ted Cruz landing a verbal haymaker on none other than Senator Cory “Spartacus” Booker. The exchange happened during a Senate Judiciary Subcommittee hearing with the incredibly ironic title: “The Supposedly Least Dangerous Branch: District Judges v. Trump.” And let’s just say, things got real dangerous for Booker’s ego.
Cruz, who chaired the hearing, took the opportunity to torch Democrats for their selective outrage and deafening silence during some of the ugliest attacks on conservative Supreme Court Justices under the Biden administration. He reminded everyone how Chuck Schumer, the Senate Minority Leader, basically threatened Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh in front of a screaming mob: “You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price.” If that had come out of a Republican’s mouth during the Obama era, we’d still be hearing about it on CNN.
Booker, never one to miss a chance to grandstand, tried to swing back. He accused Cruz of misleading the committee, insisting that Democrats did speak out when left-wing mobs showed up outside Justices’ homes. He even praised his fellow Democrats for passing a bipartisan security bill — the kind of half-measure politicians love to brag about when they don’t actually want to solve the real problem.
But Cruz, armed with actual law — specifically U.S.C. Section 1507, which makes it a crime to protest at a judge’s residence to influence a decision — dropped the hammer. “Did the Biden DOJ arrest even one person under this law?” he asked. Cue crickets.
Booker dodged, weaved, and tried to change the subject. Cruz, undeterred, pressed him again: “Just one person?” Still no answer.
That’s when Booker lost it — raising his voice, trying to lecture Cruz about “partisan rhetoric” and “divisions in the country,” as if that somehow erased the fact that, under Biden, the DOJ sat on its hands while mobs harassed Supreme Court Justices over a pending case. Cruz just laughed and let him rant.
Then came the knockout: “So let the record reflect that Spartacus did not answer the question,” Cruz said with a grin, referencing Booker’s cringe-worthy 2018 “I am Spartacus” moment. “Because he knows the Biden DOJ refused to enforce the law for partisan reasons.”
🔥DANG: Senator Cory Booker tries (& fails) to call Senator @tedcruz A LIAR for exposing Democrats' DESPICABLE hypocrisy.
They said NOTHING about the attacks on the American judiciary — especially when the lives of conservative SCOTUS justices were in danger.

Game, set, match. Once again, the left’s righteous indignation was no match for basic facts and common sense.
