The Nobel Peace Prize has once again proven it’s less about peace and more about politics. This year, the committee handed the shiny medal to Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado—a woman actually doing something courageous, for a change. But just when you thought the Nobel elites had their victory lap, Machado flipped the script and did the unthinkable: she dedicated the award to President Trump. The man the committee has snubbed year after year, despite his track record of peace deals and keeping America (and the world) out of more useless wars. Bet that wasn’t on their bingo card.
The Nobel Peace Prize, which has somehow been handed out to everyone from Barack “Drone Strike” Obama to the United Nations’ professional hand-wringers, decided this year to crown Maria Corina Machado for her work in standing up to the corrupt socialist regime in Venezuela. Don’t get me wrong she’s a brave woman. Living under a dictatorship, blocked from running for office, hunted by the regime, and still pushing for liberty? That takes guts.
But then she drops the bombshell. In her official statement on X, Machado said:
“This recognition of the struggle of all Venezuelans is a boost to conclude our task: to conquer Freedom. We are on the threshold of victory and today, more than ever, we count on President Trump, the people of the United States, the peoples of Latin America, and the democratic nations of the world as our principal allies to achieve Freedom and democracy. I dedicate this prize to the suffering people of Venezuela and to President Trump for his decisive support of our cause!”
The Nobel Peace Prize Committee awarded it to a Venezuelan peace activist today, and you know what she did?
Dedicated it to President Trump

To President Trump. Not Biden. Not the UN. Not Norway or any other left-wing NGO crowd. Nope. President Trump. I imagine the Nobel Committee’s faces went pale, probably wondering how fast they could pull the plug on their livestream.
Reuters even had to awkwardly report it: “Machado…dedicated the award in part to U.S. President Donald Trump, who has repeatedly insisted he deserved it.” Yeah, he “insisted” he deserved it because, let’s see, he brokered peace deals in the Middle East, de-escalated tensions with North Korea, and ended multiple foreign entanglements that Obama and Bush helped drag us into.
But hey, maybe this is poetic justice. The Nobel Committee still refuses to recognize Trump’s actual accomplishments, but the people fighting for freedom on the ground sure do. Machado just made it crystal clear who actually had their back when it mattered. Not Biden, who cozies up to leftist thugs like Maduro. Not the EU, which holds press conferences and accomplishes nothing. No, it was President Trump.
So yeah, maybe this is even better than Trump getting the award himself. He didn’t need a trophy — he’s already got the respect of those risking their lives for real freedom.
