President Trump’s first week back in office has been nothing short of spectacular, and you know he’s doing something right when Hollywood starts melting down. Case in point: Selena Gomez, who took to Instagram in full meltdown mode, crying over Trump’s efforts to remove criminal illegal aliens from the country.
In a now-deleted Instagram story, Gomez was visibly distraught, sobbing about how “all my people are getting attacked” and lamenting that she didn’t know what to do. “I’m so sorry,” she blubbered. “I wish I could do something, but I can’t.” Well, Selena, here’s an idea—how about supporting policies that put American citizens first?
Of course, the internet wasted no time pointing out the glaring hypocrisy. Gomez had nothing to say when 300,000 children went missing under Biden’s disastrous open-border policies or when countless American families were torn apart by crimes committed by illegal aliens. But now that President Trump is cleaning up the mess, especially when he located 70,000-80,000 in the first four days on the job? Cue the celebrity waterworks.

It’s not surprising that Gomez feels personally invested in this issue. She’s been vocal about her family’s history of illegal immigration, even writing a Time Magazine piece in 2019 detailing how her aunt crossed the border in the back of a truck and her grandparents later followed. Her father was born in Texas, and she arrived on the scene in 1992. Look, no one’s denying that people come to America seeking a better life—but there’s a big difference between hardworking legal immigrants and criminals who exploit our system.
Gomez has long been a cheerleader for open borders, producing a 2019 Netflix documentary Living Undocumented, which painted illegal immigrants in the most sympathetic light possible while ignoring the harsh realities that everyday Americans face due to illegal immigration. Not exactly shocking coming from Hollywood, where virtue-signaling is a way of life.
The backlash was swift, with fans calling her out for her selective outrage. In response, Gomez doubled down, claiming that “apparently, it’s not okay to show empathy for people.” Oh, it’s okay to show empathy, Selena—just try extending it to Americans who have suffered under the crime wave caused by Biden’s reckless policies.
Additionally, Tom Homan said something about the video as well:
JUST IN: Border Czar Tom Homan reacts to Selena Gomez’s viral breakdown, says he has “no apologies” and he is going to keep moving forward.
The reaction we’ve all been waiting for.
“If they don't like it, then go to Congress and change the law.”

Meanwhile, Trump is keeping his promises, ramping up deportations and holding foreign governments accountable if they refuse to take back their criminals. Unlike the Biden era, where law and order took a backseat to feelings, the Trump administration is making it clear: if you break the law, you’re gone.
Sorry, Selena, but America’s done playing the open-borders game.
